Clinton Global Initiative commitment

Creating a Revolution in Education

Step One: "50 schools in 10 years" initiative

At the end of 2007 Teach A Man To Fish and Fundación Paraguaya launched the “50 Schools in 10 Years” commitment, a project to support replications of the first Financially Sustainable School in Paraguay in 50 other locations in Latin America and around the world by the year 2017. This commitment was made to the Clinton Global Initiative.

The creation of these 50 schools - and of the additional schools that these schools will likewise inspire - will enable more than 120,000 disadvantaged youth from poor rural families to become successful rural entrepreneurs/employers, thereby allowing them and their families, around 600,000 people in total, to overcome poverty.

Currently we are working with our Partners in developing countries to establish Financially Sustainable Schools in such countries as Uganda and Nicaragua

Owned and run by local partners these schools adhere to a common set of values and organisational principles, and make up the first group of ‘Teach A Man To Fish Schools’ – replication partner institutions accredited by Teach A Man To Fish.
